The Full Moon Atlas

Full Moon Atlas: Sector C-2
Western Mare Imbrium/
Northeast Oceanus Procellarum

This region, where northern Oceanus Procellarum meets Mare Imbrium, is dominated by a ragged area that includes craters Aristarchus and Herodotus, as well as the snaking Vallis Schröteri. The light "rays" in the area are the result of ejecta from the formation of Aristarchus. Many of the smaller craters in the sector are unnamed or reference to a larger nearby crater.

Moving your cursor over major geographical features in the photograph below will trigger identifying flags.
· When displayed, approximate crater diameters (in kilometers) are shown within parenthesis.
· To move to an adjoining sector (when available), click on the direction indicator. For example, clicking on the "North" indicator moves you to the sector above the current one displayed.
